Christie has worked as a newspaper reporter and editor, and as a freelance magazine writer. She has been a beat reporter covering politics and environmental issue, and ran the newsroom as the Editor in Chief of a community weekly. She has worked as a fixer for foreign reporters while working overseas and has contributed freelance journalism pieces to a number of national dailies and magazines. 

Travel Writing:
Christie has been a professional travel writer since 2001, when her first guidebook hit stands. Since then, she has authored or co-authored six guidebooks, some of them now in their 10th edition. She is regularly consulted as an expert on the fields of travel and travel writing.  Her travel writing has been featured in The Globe and Mail (CAN), on NBC's The Today Show (US), on BBC Radio (UK) and the Financial Times (UK) among many other publications and media. She has guested on podcasts and was a finalist for the 2017 CBC Non-fiction Prize for a piece about fly-fishing in Patagonia. 

Corporate Content:
Christie consults as a corporate copywriter and copy-editor for a number of clients in the US, Canada and in Argentina - in businesses ranging from tourism and the arts to healthcare and events management. Working collaboratively on marketing teams, she generates clever positioning and compelling messages, getting the most out of our language and helping her clients truly make a difference. In the field of film and video, she has mastered a number of roles including producer, production manager, script writer and director. As a successful copywriter, Christie has produced effective copy for the web, printed marketing materials, collateral, email marketing and social media.

​She specializes in helping corporate clients hone in on their unique voice and tell their amazing stories to the world. She can lead on story-driven content creation that branches from print media to films.
